| selected wisdom. 1) be happy. be content. there's nothing to worry about. 2) somewhere in the world, someone is worse off than you. 3) everyone's got their own battles. don't make it harder for them. 4) a fender bender is just a fender bender. it can be fixed. 5) 99.9% of the time, the UPS workers, police officers, restaurant waiters, and auto mechanics are just doing what they're supposed to be doing. 6) leaving desires unchecked leads to selfishness. 7) get out and see the world once in a while. take your camera if you want. 8) don't bother anyone, and no one will hate you. 9) want something? be willing to go get it yourself. 10) stay away from petty drama. it's not worth it. it's just another stress that you don't need. 11) celebrity magazines are stupid. they're written by people who apparently have nothing better to do than obsess over the lives of other people who don't affect them in any way. 12) if it isn't broken, it doesn't need fixing. 13) money and happiness are two separate entities. 14) complaining is useless. if you have a problem, then do something about it. if you can't do anything about it, then complaining isn't going to fix anything. 15) don't hate the soldiers. hate the war. 16) no person has the right to dislike you for who you are. unless you're an ass. or really really annoying. or both. 17) if they're genuinely happy to see you, you should be genuinely happy to see them. 18) if you're going to talk about something, make damn sure you know what the hell you're talking about. 19) when babies fall, they cry for a little bit. then they get up and keep walking. 20) smiling is the most natural human function. the first thing a human being knows how to do is smile. 21) do what you love to do. 22) trust is a beautiful thing. don't break it. 23) channel surfing is a time waster, and you're probably not going to find anything that you want to watch. 24) go get some excercise. 25) eating, drinking, shaving, or doing anything else behind the wheel is dangerous. plus, it's just wierd. 26) you don't need most of the stuff that you want. 27) get as much sleep as you possibly can. 28) no one is out to get you. they all have better things to do. 29) facebook is a complete waste of time. there, i said it. i say it as a former facebooker. 30) forget stock market shares of microsoft, gm, or boeing. a Tempur-Pedic mattress is the best investment you could ever make in your entire life. 31) a 3-and-a-half-hour long movie better be completely worth it. 32) don't see Paranormal Activity unless you want nightmares for a week. even the trailer is really frickin scary. 33) be nice to your car. your car loves you. 34) go learn a martial art. 35) Special K: Fruit & Yogurt is absolutely delicious. and it's in a supermarket near YOU. 36) sharks bite fewer people each year than New Yorkers do. 37) want a fun tv show that'll never get old or boring? Discovery's 'Cash Cab' 38) better safe than sorry. 39) the simple things in life bring us the most happiness. 40) got time to kill? do something productive. 41) don't ever be scared. fear is an impediment. 42) Sony Walkmans are worthy alternatives to iPods or Zunes. 43) you can never go wrong with some take-out chinese food. 44) the mall is probably the worst possible place if all you want to do is hang out. 45) every story has 2 sides. 46) NEVER put off washing your clothes, doing the dishes, or taking out the trash. |
